SOULHOOD

Meaning of soulhood: a soul person.

As a practitioner of soul care, I am committed to joining others in their spiritual journey, attending to the needs of their souls.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION IS A WELLNESS PRACTICE OF FOSTERING SPACE TO ATTEND TO THE MYSTERY, EXPLORATION AND DISCOVERY OF GOD IN A PERSON’S LIFE.

- DR. CARMEN KAMPMAN

What does a Spiritual Care Practitioner do?

A spiritual care practitioner assists people in their search for wholeness, meaning and purpose in life. They are the keeper of sacred stories, compassionate listeners, non-judgemental, and provide a non-anxious presence in confusing and hard times.

Spiritual Care Practitioners serve in a wide variety of contexts such as hospices, hospitals, long-term care homes, or prisons, to name a few.

They are concerned with people and what they honour and value as sacred and meaningful in their lives. They are trained professionals who are invited into people’s lives when they need someone.
